The international curling focus will turn to Sweden when the World Junior Curling Championships 2012 get underway in Östersund, Sweden, on Saturday 3rd March.

Russia won the gold medal at the World Curling Wheelchair Championship 2012 in Chuncheon, South Korea on Saturday defeating hosts Korea 9-1 in the final. The Koreans took the silver medal. China won the bronze medal, winning their game against Slovakia 7-4.

The Japanese junior women’s team (skipped by Sayaka Yoshimura) won gold at the 2012 Pacific-Asia Junior Curling Championships at the Hwasan Ice Rink in Jeonju, South Korea on Thursday beating Korea in the final 3-2. The Chinese junior men’s team (skipped by Xiuyue Ma) won the gold medal in the junior men’s event with a 3-2 win over Korea.
