The World Mixed Curling Championship 2018 will head to Canada for the first time, in October. Kelowna Curling Club, in Kelowna, British Columbia will host the fourth edition of this open entry event from Saturday 13 October to Saturday 20 October 2018. In its first few years this event has attracted 37 of the World Curling Federation’s 60 Member Associations.

The world's top men's curling nations will be competing at the World Curling Federation's, 361° World Men’s Curling Championship 2018 in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States, from Saturday 31 March until Sunday 8 April.

In a game where the lead changed hands six teams, Russia beat United States by 6-5 to take the bronze medals at the Ford World Women’s Curling Championship 2018 in North Bay’s Memorial Gardens, in Canada, on Sunday (25 March) morning. Both of these teams were making their first appearances at this level.

China made history in Saturday (17 March) evening’s Paralympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 gold medal final in the Gangneung Curling Centre, when they defeated Norway 6-5 after an extra end to claim China’s first ever Paralympic Winter Games medals. Norway’s silver was their first ever Paralympic wheelchair curling medal.

Sweden beat Korea by 8-3 in Sunday morning's women's gold medal final of the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018, in the Gangneung Curling Centre, to take their Member Association third Olympic title. Korea's silver was a first medal for the host nation at either Olympic or curling world level. Korea opened the scoring with a single point in the first end.

Another world championship will be contested in Lethbridge, Alberta, it was announced jointly on Wednesday (14 March) by the World Curling Federation and Curling Canada. The World Men's Curling Championship 2019 will be played at the Enmax Centre in Lethbridge, from 30 March to 7 April.
