The World Curling Federation (WCF) at its recent Board meetings held in Basel, Switzerland committed to developing its existing broadcast partnerships with the USA Curling Association (USCA) and Curling Champions Tour (CCT), to deliver more high-quality TV coverage of the sport to its supporters.

The World Curling Federation (WCF) Board has welcomed new members to its Standing Commissions, following its recent meetings in Basel, Switzerland.
What is Mixed Doubles curling? Mixed doubles is a dynamic form of curling, where it is all about stone positioning, a lot of play to the four foot circle and a lot about angles. It is a faster version of curling that only requires two players on each team. Mixed Doubles Curling will make its debut on the Olympic Winter Programme at the games in Pyeongchang, South Korea 2018.

The Karlstad Curling Arena in Karlstad, Sweden is set to play host to the 15th edition of the World Senior Curling Championships for men and women's teams, with play getting underway on Friday 15 April 2016. This is the second time that the World Senior Championships will have been hosted in Sweden, with Gavle acting as host city in 2004.

Switzerland has hosted a total of nine World Curling Championships two of which have been in Basel.

Denmark skip Rasmus Stjerne and his team beat defending world champions Sweden 8-7 with the final stone of the last round-robin game in Basel, Switzerland on Thursday (7 April) evening. This is the first time in five years that Sweden will not be in the play-offs. Denmark skip Rasmus Stjerne made an angled-raise in the sixth end, which levelled the score at five-points apiece.
