The World Curling Federation’s (WCF) Board, at its meetings in Basel, Switzerland, this week, has approved the hosting of a ‘Sweeping Summit’ to establish recommendations that will be put for approval to the Member Associations at the WCF Congress in Stockholm, Sweden in September 2016.

Canada’s Warren Hansen, 73, has been inducted into the World Curling Federation’s Hall of Fame today (Friday 8 April) after a special presentation at the World Men’s Curling Championship 2016 in Basel, Switzerland.

Sweden won 7-4 over Korea at the World Men’s Curling Championship 2016 in Basel, Switzerland in Wednesday (6 April) evening’s 14th session of round-robin play.

Korea played their seventh game of the week so far against Denmark in Tuesday evening's session, and finally managed to record their first win, beating their Danish opponents by 8-5. This result places them in an eleventh place tie with Germany. At the other end of the table, Canada faced Russia looking to keep their place at the top of the table and their unbeaten record alive.

A 8-3 victory for USA against defending champions Sweden and a 9-2 win for Canada over Japan in this evening’s eighth session of round-robin play at the World Men’s Curling Championship 2016, sees Canada sit at the top-of-the-table after day three, in Basel, Switzerland. USA skip John Shuster had established a 7-2 lead by the fifth end, having hit for three points in the second end.

In Saturday’s (2 April) second session of round-robin play at the World Men's Curling Championship 2016 - in Basel, Switzerland - Russia faced Korea. Both teams had lost their opening games and were looking for their first win. In the fifth end of the game, with Korea leading by 4-3, Russia's skip Alexey Tselousov played a hit to score two points and take a 5-4 lead.

The World Curling Federation’s World Men’s Curling Championship 2016 is set to get underway on Saturday (2 April) in Basel, Switzerland, with 12 teams representing the world’s top men’s curling nations. The event, which will be preceded by the World Curling Federation’s 50th anniversary on Friday 1 April, will run for 10 days up until Sunday 10 April 2016.

Sunday’s Gold Medal Game – to be played at 15.
