WCF to be Media Partner of CCT Stockholm Ladies Curling Cup 2015

The World Curling Federation (WCF) and Curling Champions Tour (CCT) are pleased to announce a new broadcast partnership which aims to increase production and raise the quality of curling games available for TV broadcast and web streaming.

WCF Annual General Assembly 2015

Member Associations of the World Curling Federation (WCF) have re-elected 2002 Olympic gold medallist Bent Ånund Ramsfjell, from Norway, as their Vice President for Europe. Delegates gathered in Belgrade, Serbia for the WCF’s fourth annual Congress also voted on a series of rule changes for the sport of Curling at the Federation’s Annual General Assembly (AGA) held on Saturday.

Stjerne named role model for Lillehammer 2016 Youth Olympic Games

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has announced the list of Athlete Role Models for the Winter Youth Olympic Games which will take place in Lillehammer, Norway, in February 2016. Rasmus Stjerne, from Hvidovre in Denmark, has been selected as the Role Model for curling.

Beijing named host city of Olympic Winter Games 2022

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has named Beijing, China, as the host city of the Olympic Winter Games 2022. The Chinese capital was chosen over Almaty, Kazakhstan, in a vote at the 128th IOC Session in Kuala Lumpur. Beijing received 44 votes to Almaty’s 40.

Curling Night in America 2015

“Curling Night In America 2015” was a weekly curling programme which was televised on NBCSN, NBC Sports Live Extra TV and Universal Sports Network in the United States from January through to March 2015. The programmes feature games from the inaugural US Curling Grand Prix.

Mixed Doubles curling confirmed for PyeongChang 2018 Olympics

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has confirmed that Mixed Doubles curling has been approved as an additional event at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games. The announcement was made following IOC Executive Board meeting held in Lausanne, Switzerland earlier today.

Wheelchair curling event expanded to 12 teams for PyeongChang 2018

The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) confirmed that the wheelchair curling event at the PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games will be expanded from 10 to 12 teams. The IPC confirmed this expansion following their Governing Board meeting held in Tokyo, Japan on Sunday 7 June 2015.

World Curling Federation suspends membership of SportAccord

Following the recent public statements by the SportAccord President to the organisation's Annual General Assembly in Sochi and the subsequent reiteration of these comments, the World Curling Federation (WCF) Board took the decision on Wednesday evening (20 May 2015) to suspend the WCF's membership of SportAccord.
