Feature: The many beards of superfan Hans Madsen

There are dedicated curling fans and then there is Hans Madsen. Curling fans are well-known for their passion for the sport, but it’s hard to see anyone with more passion than Hans, and his wife Judy. The couple dress up in different costumes, wigs and hats at the matches, with Hans dyeing his beard a different colour every day.

Russ Howard, Ray Turnbull and Hiroyuki Saito inducted into World Curling Hall of Fame

The World Curling Federation (WCF) announced today that Canada’s Russ Howard and Ray Turnbull, and Japan’s Hiroyuki Saito, are inducted into the World Curling Hall of Fame. The announcement was made following an on ice ceremony celebrating the lifetime achievements of Hiroyuki Saito at the ZEN-NOH World Women’s Curling Championship being held in Sapporo, Japan.

Feature: Youth Olympians - the class of 2012

The first Winter Youth Olympic Games (WYOG) took place in Innsbruck, Austria in 2012. Of the 1,000 athletes that competed, more than 60 of them made their full Olympic debuts at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games. Three of them won gold medals.

Youth Olympic Games qualification update

Following the conclusion of the World Junior Curling Championships 2015, the World Curling Federation (WCF) has released the final qualification points for Member Associations for the Youth Olympic Winter Games (WYOG) in 2016. WYOG 2016 will be held in Lillehammer, Norway from 12-21 February. This competition will be open to curlers born between 1 January 1998 and 31 December 2001.

This season's World Junior Curling Championships (WJCC) marked an important milestone for Estonia, and for the World Curling Federation (WCF) - it was the first time the country had hosted a curling world championship event and the first time Estonian teams represented their country at this level.

The World Curling Federation's Olympic Celebration Tour returns this weekend with a Tour stop in Arizona, USA. 2010 Olympic silver medallist Carolyn McRorie from Canada will visit Coyotes Curling Club, Tempe in Arizona from the 20 to 22 February.

The World Curling Federation (WCF) is pleased to announce that Russian airline Aeroflot is to be the main sponsor of the ZEN-NOH World Women’s Curling Championship 2015.
