Japanese Junior Women and Chinese Junior Men win PAJCC 2013

The Japanese junior women’s team (skipped by Sayaka Yoshimura) won gold at the 2013 Pacific-Asia Junior Curling Championships at the Tokoro Curling Hall in Kitami City, Japan on Wednesday beating China 7-4 in the final. The Chinese junior men’s team (skipped by Qiang Zou) won the gold medal in the junior men’s event with a 7-5 win over Korea.

Beijing, China to host 2014 World Men’s Curling Championship

The World Curling Federation (WCF) has announced that the Chinese capital, Beijing, will host the 2014 World Men’s Curling Championship. The event will take place from March 29 to April 6, 2014.

World Financial Group Continental Cup begins Thursday

The World Financial Group Continental Cup gets underway on Thursday in Penticton, British Columbia, Canada at the South Okanagan Events Centre. The ninth edition of this unique international curling competition takes place between January 10-13 and is the third time the event has been staged in British Columbia, following Chilliwack in 2006 and Langley for the 2012 edition.

Curling loses another ambassador

The World Curling Federation is deeply saddened to learn of the death of Canada's Keith Reilly, who passed away on December 18, 2012 after a lengthy hospital stay. Keith had a long affiliation with our sport, representing Canada on the international stage on several occasions including the Scotch Cup (World Championship) in Perth, Scotland in 1967.

The large crowd got exactly what they came to see, when Niklas Edin led his Swedish team of Sebastian Kraupp, Fredrik Lindberg, lead Victor Kjäll and alternate Oscar Eriksson to an 8-5 victory over Norway in Saturday afternoon's men's final of the Le Gruyère European Curling Championships 2012 in Karlstad, Sweden, Edin's hometown.
