The City of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, has been awarded the 2013 Ford World Men’s Curling Championship, it was confirmed today in a joint announcement made by the World Curling Federation (WCF) and the Canadian Curling Association (CCA).

Brazil is set to challenge USA for 2012 Men's World Championship berth. The Bemidji Curling Club in Bemidji, Minnesota, USA will host a challenge between the United States and Brazil on Jan. 27-29 for the final North American berth at the World Men's Curling Championship 2012 in Basel, Switzerland. Brazil issued its third challenge against the U.S.

The World Curling Federation and Canadian Curling Association (CCA) have announced that World Financial Group has extended its title sponsorship of The Continental Cup through to 2013, with an option for 2014. World Curling Federation President, Kate Caithness, is delighted by this latest agreement with the organization.

After a review by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the World Curling Federation, it has been announced that curling has now been officially removed from the list of sports which prohibits the use of beta-blockers.
Sweden's Anette Norberg has been selected as a finalist for the 2011 Sportswoman of the Year (Team Sports Athlete) Award by the US-based Women’s Sports Foundation. Two time Olympic Gold Medallist Anette Norberg, from Sweden, continued to take the curling world by storm in the 2010-2011 season.

The World Curling Federation (WCF) has announced that the Latvian capital, Riga, will host the World Women’s Curling Championship 2013. The event will take place from 16 to 24 March 2013 at the 1000 seat Volvo Sports Centre.
The World Curling Federation has announced that the World Senior Curling Championships 2012 will take place at Tårnby Curling Club in Kastrup, on the outskirts of Copenhagen, in Denmark. The event will run from 14-21 April at the seven sheet curling facility which was the venue for the 2006 World Seniors event.
The World Curling Federation and the Turkish Ice Skating Federation (Turkish Curling Association) have announced that the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship 2012 will be staged in Erzurum, Turkey. The event will take place from 23-29 April at the 1000 seat Milli Piyango Curling Hall which was the purpose-built venue for the curling competition at the Winter Universiade in January 2011.
The World Curling Federation (WCF) and Infront Sports & Media have extended their media and marketing partnership for four years taking the contract period up to 2014. The new agreement follows the initial period of three years which has led to strong achievements for the federation and the sport of curling.
